"I bought your cookbook and I have been cooking for my dogs. Its not easy because I have 4 large dogs (1 lab, 2 lab mixed breeds, and 1 collie mix) so you can imagine how much food I need just to feed them twice a day but they love it. They actually wake up in the mornings and wait in the kitchen and when their food is done one actually sits and cries because its cooling off and she doesn't want to wait. Its so rewarding just to see how happy they get and how they look forward to eating.

I think people should be afraid of buying dog food made my strangers in the cheapest way possible. I have always feared the meat they use. During the pet food recall, while looking for a good dog food to use, I called many companies and asked them "Do you use human grade food? If I ate your food would I get sick?". You should have heard how badly they wanted to avoid my question. We all should call the companies we buy dog food from and ask them that question, or email them.

The release I got when I bought your book and now had the ability to cook for and feed my dogs, that I didnt have to have that knot in my stomach worrying about their health, im so happy!

Here are the pictures of your newest fans."

"Hey Susan and Dr. Cathy,

I have just got to share something with you and Dr. Cathy: I will try to be brief, but you may need a little history to appreciate this.

I have a 3 ½  year old female black Standard Poodle. She has always had a dry nose, sometimes it would even crack and bleed, some lightening of the color.

Also on occasion she will vomit-about quarterly--with or without having just eaten. The vet did not seemed concerned since it was so infrequent. She also has noise anxiety which started when she turned 2 years old  around New Year's Eve and the firecrackers sent her over the edge. She had never paid much attention to loud noises until then-thunder,  sonic booms, my banging around cooking  in the kitchen, etc. did not bother her. Now she reacts to any loud or popping sound-tucks tail and tries to run for the hills! So, she is on Anxitane to help reduce her anxiety to help us with her reconditioning.

She has never really been a big eater. About a month ago,  I tried Nature's Variety. She ate this better than any other kibble I had ever given to her. She even barked to eat in the mornings.  I still added a little chicken and veggies to it. About 2 weeks ago she vomited after eating 3/5 nights.Well, out of fear of manufactured foods and frustration, I put her on homemade meals after that (chicken, veggies, she likes ww pasta better then rice, veggie oil, and cheese, and I give her a MVI/MIN, and fish oil capsule)  - it's been about a week - 10 days and I have to tell you something. ….

She has not vomited; she eats 2 meals a day now instead of 1; her nose is black , shiny, cold , and wet now; we went to an event outside yesterday where there were live bands and a few of the balloons at our booth popped -she did not freak out!! She turned her head at the popped balloon and then laid back down! The drummers were doing a sound check and she did not even pay attention to them! That alone is a miracle!!  Normally she would have her tail tucked so tight it would touch her belly button and she would be scampering to get away from it all.

I read Dr. Cathy's website about how homemade meals can alleviate a lot of a dog's problems. I think my girl might be one of them! I can't help but think something in the manufactured foods was giving her a problem??  Maybe she has a food or additive allergy? Maybe she has reflux? But she seems to be  better on a homemade diet.

THANK YOU!!!!"
